Monday, November 6, 2007: Pirates Week moves to Saturdays and Sundays at 4PM. Area 51 returns Sundays from 5PM to 8PM. Monday through Saturday, midnight to 1AM, we present Vault of Slack, bringing you the best of the National Cynical Network, "Bob"'s Slacktime Funhouse, and the Church of the Subgenius Hour of Slack. The Bets of the Canvas Prog Hour continues Friday and Sunday nights from 8 to 10PM. See the full schedule for details.
Thursday, April 26, 2007: The Adventures of Superman began Monday, April 23, at 10PM eastern time. I wrote a script to play the Superman episodes, serialized from 1939 to 1951, in order. There are over 1100 shows in our archive, meaning that the Superman series will not repeat until June 13, 2010. Here's the episode list.
Thursday, November 2, 2006: Lots of hitherto unheard Susie shows are appearing on the newsgroups, thanks to Rev. Stang. So, we're gonna give 'em a spin.
Tuesday, May 2, 2006: I've added sixty five vintage Hours of Slack to the archive, after receiving several MP3 collections from the Church of the Subgenius.
Also, I obtained a complete set of Zombo's Mondo Record Party shows from Michael Ketter and Complex Variables Studio. These 47 shows aired on WBCQ in the 2001 timeframe and are all quite excellent. Adding to this mix, I also obtained Michael's huge Jean Shepherd archive, including about 200 vintage episodes, and a number of Complex Variables Studio airchecks, many never repeated anywhere!
Tuesday, April 25, 2006: We are now running at 128 kbps/44 KHz stereo MP3 for your listening enjoyment. I have also reduced the stream processing when tweezing the sound quality of the webcast. Hope you like it.

Tuesday, March 14, 2006: We've changed from a 32K MP3Pro stereo to a 48K MP3 stereo webcast. A plug-in is no longer required to enjoy full fidelity from our station. Please let us know if you have any problems.
Sunday, March 12, 2006: Hour of Slack on WBCQ has moved to Sundays at 11PM eastern time, and since we feed the show from 975 Pirate Radio's studio, we will be running our shortwave relay here at this time from now on.

Tuesday, March 1, 2006: While grabbing some old MP3s for an upcoming Lumpy Gravy show we're planning to do live at the Winterfest, I discovered an old Hour of Slack that is not in out playlist! So, I am adding Hour of Slack 830, which itself is a rerun of Hour of Slack 286 from 1991. It is most excellent and I hope you enjoy it as it plays this Saturday and Sunday at midnight eastern time.
We will be live Thursday through Saturday, March 2-4, 2006, for many hours of fun and frolic from the 'fest. Keep an eye out on our second channel at 11l-rni.net:8024 as we will webcast here if we are able.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006: We are amazed and enlightened by the recent release of The National Cynical Network's Needle In The Red Episodes 20A and 20B, entitled "They Saved Zappa's Moustache." This is Zappa as how it should be listened to, and is henceforth added to our playlist.
We are toying with the idea of a weeknightly show of bizarre and crufty material. We can't commit to a live show every weeknight at this time, even though we'd really, really like to do one. However, this appears to be the right time to add a new show that airs every weeknight from 9PM eastern time until whenever, that will highlight new and interesting material of unknown content and genre. Sometimes this show will be live, sometimes it will feature anything from Susie to NCN to Kracker to Commander Bunny.
For now, lacking a better title, we're going to initiate this new feature as Theatre of the Mind, in honor or the late, lamented, and short lived WREM AM 710 programming block of the same name.

Sunday, September 18, 2005: The Church of the Subgenius Hour of Slack premieres on WBCQ 7.415 MHz shortwave today at 5PM eastern time (2100 UTC). We will be simulcasting the show's airing on WBCQ here ar Pirate Radio.
Saturday, September 17, 2005: Rev. Stang uploaded several new Susie the Floozy shows to alt.binaries.multimedia.slack today. We're in the process of adding these to our online archive. Chances are you'll hear a Susie show during our Hour of Slack archive airing weeknights at Midnight ET.
